Ready to Dance With Rushnychok?
Thanks for your interest in joining the Rushnychok Dance Family!
We will be accepting a limited number of new dancer registrations. This will be based solely on availability. Our preliminary count suggests we will have room for new dancers in our two youngest groups (typically ages 3-7). Unfortunately, we won’t have room for new dancers in our older groups this year.
Please think of this as a pre-registration. If your child is interested in dancing with Rushnychok, please email us their name, age (as of September 30th), grade (for the upcoming year), dance experience (if any) or previous club (if applicable).
Our email is rushnychok@gmail.com
We will be receiving new dancer inquiries until June 30th. After this, we will place new dancers as we have room and then request official registrations from those we are able to accommodate. We would love to accept everyone, but we recognize that we have limitations and that maintaining a reasonable number of dancers in each group is best for everyone.
We look forward to hearing from you!
About Dancing With Rushnychok
We are very excited to welcome back familiar faces as well as new dancers to the Rushnychok family. Here is a little information about Rushnychok to help you.
We are Rushnychok Ukrainian Folk Dance Association or RUFDAI for short.
Our group was established in 1967.
We are a not-for-profit organization with a parent-run board.
Our dance instructors have over 60 years of combined teaching experience!
Classes are all on Wednesday. It is important to us that families can bring all their dancers of all ages to one place on the same day.
We limit our class sizes to maintain Wednesday instruction days.
Our dancers are ages 3 through 18.
We include formative ballet classes at the beginning of each Ukrainian week for junior to senior-level dancers.
We host a yearly Malnaka & Year-End Recital.
Our Zirka class (3-4yr olds) performs at Malanka and Year-End Recital.
Dancers ages 5+ attend Ukrainian dance festivals in Saskatchewan and sometimes Alberta.
Our dancers perform outside performances such as Folkfest, Ukrainian Day in the Park, Canada’s National Ukrainian Dance Festival, nursing homes, and other outside opportunities at their option.
Tour opportunities are available for all dancers.
We require each family to be on a committee. Don’t get scared… we have experienced committee chairs and our committees run smooth like butter!
We provide costumes for group dances from our extensive costume collection. Costumes for optional dance are available to all Rushnuchok dancers for rent.
Rushnychok does a club liquor raffle in the fall. Other individual fundraising opportunities are available.
